How to get refund?

  1. Cardholders can contact the iPASS Corporation to cancel the iPASS at any time. Since the iPASS is an anonymous card sold on outright sale basis, they have to show the iPASS to start the process of blocking the card, terminating the contract and getting a full refund of the deposit balance.
  2. Unregistered electronic ticket: Cardholders can go to the service counter at all Kaohsiung MRT stations in person, and ask for a full refund of the deposit balance. Or they can go to locations like OK‧MART all over Taiwan or Taiwan Railway to ask for envelops exclusively for free registered mails, and send the iPASS to the iPASS Corporation by registered mail. Those who apply for contract termination and a full refund of deposit balance by mail must pay for the cost of the registered mail or transfer fee by deducting money from the refund. However, if the cardholders ask for a refund due to the malfunction of the card, instead of damage caused by human errors, they will not need to afford the aforementioned fees.
      Registered electronic ticket: Cardholders can take the iPASS to the MRT station, fill out the relevant form, and send it back to the iPASS Corp. for a refund. Or they can ask for a stamped addressed envelope at entrusted iPASS sales locations, and send it back to the iPASS Corp. If they ask for a refund by mail or transfer, they need to pay for the cost of the register mail or transfer fee. If no other particular problems take place during the process, the iPASS Corp. will mail the refund by check or remit the money to the cardholders’ accounts.

  3. If the iPASS is damaged; the chip data on the card can still be read; the card number on the surface can be identified, and after the iPass Corp checks and verifies without errors, cardholders can apply for contract termination and a full refund of the deposit balance.
  4. Unless the iPASS has been canceled, cardholders are not able to get a full or partial refund.
  5. For cardholders who ask for contract termination at the service counters at all Kaohsiung MRT stations, but the refund amount exceeds NT$5,000 and the card can not read the balance, if they have objections to the refund amount, they can fill out the application form. Employees at the service counters will collect their card, and send it back to the iPASS Corp. for the follow-ups. Cardholders need to pay for the postage for delivery the refund or transaction charges. However, if the card is not damaged due to human errors, they do not need to afford the aforementioned fees. The iPASS Corp. will reply to the cardholder by mail, text message or phone ten days after receiving their application.
  6. The iPASS will block the card right after processing contract termination. The card can no longer be used, and if cardholders would like to continue to use it, the handling fee of NT$20 will be charged.
  7. Handling fees for contract termination: Cardholders who apply for contract termination and a full refund of the deposit balance to the iPASS Corp. should pay for a handling fees of NT$20 for contract termination. However, if the card has been used for five times or more, the handling fee will be exempt.
  8. The iPASS Corp. can ask cardholders to pay for the above-mentioned fees, or deduct them from the deposit balance without permission. For example, if A-yi would not like to continue to use the iPASS due to personal factors, and apply for contract termination and a full refund of the deposit balance of NT$100, he goes to the Kaohsiung MRT station to cancel the card and receive the deposit balance on the card. However, after investigation, the card has been used less than five times, and the refund amount should be NT$80 (NT$100 deposit balance – NT$20 handling fee for contract termination)
